Do you believe this adage; We will never be given more than we can handle?
I think all of us who suffer from an abusive childhood would object.
Why do we make up such falsehoods? Look at suicides.
“Suicide has been the main killer of U.S. personnel since the Sept. 11 attacks. More than 30,000 of them have died by their own hands since, during a period that saw about 7,000 service members die in combat or training exercises, according to a project from Brown University.“
Suicide is the ultimate I can not handle what has happened to me consequence.
How do you explain We will never be given more than we can handle?
I have not been able to handle my abuse or betrayal.

But you ARE handling it, as I am my own. And so many others who suffer the CPTSD and PTSD of the world, who are honest about it and have not become narcissistic abusers themselves. YOU ARE A SHINING LIGHT TO OTHERS. It is a great honor, albeit a paradox. The reward is great. This world is illusion and here we refine our dross. Love you, Marty. Love you all.

No, I don’t believe it. I think we can be pushed over the edge by experiencing something totally traumatic, and we are left alone to deal with it … and we just can’t find the resources to cope.

You have experienced things that will never leave, the stain the betrayal, beyond what we thought a mate could behave.

Adages are nice, some even inspiring. However, like religion, they’re man-made. I take them lightly and discard the BS.
