It’s like a strange Halloween when PTSD explodes.

The past (PTSD) is cloudy, hauntingly abstract in a spooky way.

It’s like a strange Halloween prank when PTSD explodes.

Our defense mechanism perceives imminent danger, maybe a lethal threat emotionally.

99% of the time, a mundane safe situation, is perceived as imminent danger, a real threat.

I have been triggered through my body at times, with no visual stimulus at all.

Agoraphobic, Alone during the day in my dark garage, my nervous system triggered violently.

With only my thoughts, absent of external stimuli, PTSD fired.

Our Ego fears annihilation as much as we fear bodily harm.

Clarity does not exist when PTSD triggers, it encapsulates our mind and body.

Parts of the brain go offline, confusion and time distortion rule.

The thoughts are abstract, a mirage, the cortisol and adrenaline are real scary drugs, awkward, weird feeling stimulants .

We believe PTSD thoughts have real power.

Our mind has stored them in a special place, out of the reach of our consciousness, our defense mechanism is programmed to avoid stored trauma in real life.

Our life changes, mood swings are common, then we spot danger at an expert level from now on.

It is a strong subconscious activity.

Hell, we see danger where neutrally reigns, harm in mundane situations and shame where it does not exist.

Be aware of the mirage, PTSD is a bluff.

Mindful Marty, as you know, the explosive episodes come and go. It’s exhausting & a tough way to live.
