Excerpts from “Recovery from Gaslighting & Narcissistic Abuse, Codependency & Complex PTSD” (3 in 1)

Attention is a narcissist’s bread and butter. They won’t do anything if no one will see them.

Why help someone if no one is looking?

Narcissists rarely consider the long-term consequences of their actions, particularly when they have to do with others’ emotions.

No narcissist wants to develop their introspection.

That’s a terrifying notion to most of them because one look inside will show them how much fear they carry inside.

To keep from looking inside, narcissists will do anything they can to sidestep boredom.

They want to be surrounded by people, constantly on adventures, and on the hunt for the next big thing.

This can make a narcissist a lot of fun to hang out with on a Friday night, but a nightmare on Saturday morning when all you want to do is sleep, and your narcissist friend is bounding around your apartment, looking for something to do.

And narcissists always want; they’re never satisfied.

Controlling people is a 24-hour job, so they will use a set of tactics to keep everyone around them working toward the narcissist’s goals.”

My two cents: I always wondered why my father hated me, now I see he was narcissist, out there on the spectrum.

The world did not recognize his uniqueness, his grandiose brilliance.

He did not graduate high school but was a genius inside his head, smarter and more talented than anyone that crossed his path.

His firstborn, me, would take the brunt of his frustration, I had complicated his life and harmed that narcissist status.

When he spoke to me, it was criticism, when he touched me, it was beating, I was a thing to him.

I have struggled to fix this.
