No one affirmation fits all of us.
Certain words connect on a deeper level than others, depending on our life experience.
This is a followers (Browneyedgirls) process.
“I create my own affirmations by looking inside of myself and thinking about what my fears, worries, and concerns are. Once I know what they are I create an affirmation to fill in that space, and eventually I am whole again in that area.
For example, about my fears regarding my abuser, I feel trapped, threatened, and hurt. I explored those feelings further as they came up anytime HE came up in my head, and eventually, I created this affirmation,
“ I forgive you for what you have done to me and I am safe.”
When I say this to myself, I usually end up imagining I am on an island, with a willow tree and a small cottage. For me that image provides a sort of sanctuary for my spirit and soul.”

For me, “In this moment, right now, I shower myself with approval, I accept all of me, I wrap myself in a warm blanket of kindness”, resonates.
I have been lax and stopped reciting my daily affirmation. We all get complacent and forget some of our core wellbeing skills.

In the past, affirmations haven’t clicked for me. For whatever reason, today’s post connects. Lovely. Perhaps I’ll try it on while going for my next walk. Lovely.
Thank you.

You will know when the words resonate.
Like I said create your affirmation then record it ten times.
Keep up for at least a month and see if things change.
Results will not come to us cognitively in words or thoughts.
I felt this organic feeling in my gut, that I was ok.

I like this. Going to do it and will report on the results. Sort of like my own “ice bucket” challenge.

We have our phones and can hit play at every red light, when we catch ourselves in thought, at bedtime etc
Every time you feel anxious, have worry creep in or especially unworthiness hit play

I too struggled with affirmations, but the forgiveness one was done a while back. I did it for me not for anyone who abused neglected manipulated or beat me. It empowered me that I was able to let those people go completely with no guilt. I struggle with others but this post has connected wit me too So it browneyed girl the blogger where the words come from Marty?
Thank

You have come far on this journey, and have survived through all of it with your core in excellent condition
Most never get beyond forgiveness and suffer
It is empowering to be as courageous as you have been in the face of such abuse and not have your heart filled with hate and fear.
You are a beacon
It is not where we are it is how far we have come that is important
You have come very far
Please enjoy the gratitude you deserve
