What will be the new normal after this Pandemic?

https://pixabay.com/users/wendybkoon-802029/ Will lines be like this again?

Will we return to life just as it was before or have things changed permanently?

If you have stock in the Cruise Ship industry, I would sell fast. Who would ever get on a Cruise Ship again? Seems the perfect incubator for any virus.

Concerts: We thought a kill zone like the Las Vegas massacre was the only danger assembling in large numbers, crammed in like sardines, listening to our favorite artists.

Sex: An STD seems minor compared to death from a virus like this. Touching alone brings risk. I mean we can not even get close to our loved ones now.

Human touch is so important, life trumps that risk right now, how about in six months.

Are handshakes a thing of the past?

Sports: Without spectators sport loses much of its appeal. Athletes risk as much as the fans, will it be worth it? Sports have been a distraction to our mundane life for many. Now what, how much are you willing to risk for your favorite team.

Healthcare: This for profit healthcare acts like a business, being prepared is forgotten in the face of making more profit. Hell the hospitals in this town short the staff to make more profit.

Having extra ventilators or caring about our wellbeing are not popular in any boardroom. Do CEO’s of a corporation running numerous hospitals care more about our health or their bottom line. Need I answer that one?

For me, healthcare for profit has failed miserably. Why have a middle man (insurance) adding to the costs. They sure do not care more about life than profits.

Prisons: Damn we incarcerate more people than China. By the way China has 1.4 billion people, over four times our population. Why do we have more prisoners? Incarceration for pot seems exploitive since we have for profit prisons.

Yes corporations make profit on the misery of others.

Our homeless: Are we going to care about them after this pandemic. I doubt that. We can walk and drive by them everyday and act like they do not exist.

Look at how America hoarded toilet paper, not caring about anybody but themselves. Think poor kids needs toilet paper or food? If you have enough TP for a year, any concern for the less fortunate.

Do we ever look at the big picture.

Will this pandemic change our paradigm about our purpose on this planet?

Any ideas or reaction?

These are all hard things to consider! For one medical or healthcare should never be for profit. It is oxymoronic to say the least!
In the end, I have to know that good will come out of this somehow someway. Time will tell as always. I don’t need to know how right now.

  2. I see few visionaries in our midst, our current culture bows at the altar of placing blame.

Politically hating the other side seems to distract us from caring about important things.

Yes blame can seem epidemic in both the personal and social political scene. It is a destructive and deadend game.
We must break that chain individually!

With the ending of blame and in the ability to be still and not know, comes the chance to find a new way.

Naaa… I believe it will all blow over and people easily forget.

I’m thinking Bubonic plague, Spanish flu… etc. This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last, but people return to normal each time afterwards (not seeking to devalidate the terrible losses some may experience).
