the most seasoned meditators: “Altered Traits”

“And then there’s anecdotal evidence: when Richie’s lab asked one yogi to take swabs of saliva to assess his cortisol activity while he was on retreat,

the levels were so low they were off the standard scale, and the lab had to adjust the assay range downward.”
My two cents: The most seasoned meditators (44,000 hours plus) have altered their brains.

The 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts that inundate us, become mere low background noise, fading from concern.

Things rarely upset these individuals as they experience what we describe as nirvana.

Even pain does not register the same for these Yogi’s.

Their strong connections between prefrontal cortex, amygdala and heart create a happy, euphoric life.

So we need to practice not reacting to stimulus, letting go of the storyline as our direction.

  1. ” . . . letting go of the storyline as our direction.”

Nice! I tell myself something similar, “I am not my story.”

  2. I have been meditating everyday for a month now. I am working on increasing my focus and stopping my mind from running away with me. Looking to be a seasoned meditator, so the noise in my head becomes a very faint background music.💞

  3. Good for u

    It is an accumulative practice
So the more time spent mediating the stronger it will get

  4. Yes, indeed! I will keep practicing.

  5. Have you tried my model?

It makes it easier to let
    Thoughts fade
